Wind Damage to a Finished Roof in One of Zachary’s Premier Neighborhoods

This Zachary, Louisiana home did not start as a roof upgrade. It started with wind damage. The first visit was an inspection, and the roof was showing missing and lifted shingles where wind had worked the tabs loose.

The Damage Was Documented From the Ceiling Down

The numbers on this job are worth stating plainly. It measured 56.33 squares, and most of it was steep: about 31 squares at a 10/12 to 11/12 pitch and another 23 squares at a full 12/12, with only 5 squares at 6/12 or below. Eighteen squares of it were second-story work.

Pitch and story height are the two things that most change how a roof is actually installed. A 12/12 plane cannot be walked, so it needs staging, and a second-story elevation changes how every bundle gets to where it is going. Any quote that prices a roof like this at walk-around speed is quoting a job it cannot deliver.

Three sheets of decking were replaced once the old roof was off.
